This beauty, native to a limited stretch of Mexico's Sierra Madre Oriental range, is best known for it's evergreen leather-textured but shiny leaves that emerge in tones of red to bronze, deepen to a deep green, then often color in late winter/spring as new growth again emerges. Upright, vigorous growth to 30 feet or more. With a silvery ball shape and deep roots, this is a near perfect street or urban medium tree. Summer drought tolerant once established, but occasional water will speed growth. Sun to light dappled shade, USDA zone 7.
