A delicate-looking but tough evergreen Iris native from the Klamath range in southern Oregon to Del Norte County California. Slender leaves in clumps to 1 foot tall and, in spring, pale lilac to deep purple flowers. Best in light shade and well-drained soil with little summer water once established. Excellent companion plant under other summer dry trees and shrubs. Frost hardy in USDA zone 7.
