Native western shrub, eventually 6-8 ft, from Baja north and just touching southern Oregon. 4” dusty green leaves, white spring flowers, and orange-red berries that attract birds in fall and winter. Full sun and lean, well-drained soil.  Summer drought tolerant. Prune to shape. Mistaken for holly in the hills around LA...thus “Hollywood”...  Frost hardy to 0F, USDA zone 7. Also known as H. salicifolia.
