Slow-growing Chamaecyparis, to only 6ft tall and 2ft wide in 10 years time and eventually to 12ft by 3ft, said to resemble a Saguaro cactus as “arms” extend from the unique, somewhat twisty, columnar form. Extremely congested, deep green foliage is a plus. For full sun and well-drained soil and little summer water once established. Good in containers and small gardens. Frost hardy in upper USDA zone 5.
